Vocal
Vocal study at Texas A&M University-Commerce combines the best of both music education and performance. Our faculty are enthusiastic, experienced and interested in seeing our students succeed. Each student is an individual and each student’s experience is tailored to his or her personal and professional music goals. While there is a healthy sense of competition within the vocal area, our students greatly support and encourage their peers in striving for artistic excellence and musical growth.
Our Goals
The curriculum is structured to develop each student’s musical skills to their fullest potential. Performance and Music Education are equally stressed serving the philosophy that skills and experience in performance along with a structured music education curriculum work together to develop a well-rounded young musician.
Personal Attention
With approximately 250 students, the department of music offers a low student-faculty ratio. With small classes and frequent one-on-one instruction, every student works closely with professors. Each student is also assigned a department of music advisor who serves as the student’s artistic and academic advisor.
